| Dome Averages -- 11/07/2002 --
Just for poops and giggles, I decided to come up with
some averages. I went out to the web and found some
domes for sale and here are the results: |
- Out of 37 domes, with prices ranging from $59,900
for a fixer-upper to $875,500 (price reduced from over
$1 million), the average price was $268,043. This
includes land. Some prices are the actual selling
price, some are the current asking prices.
- Out of 30 domes ranging from 1200 square feet to
8000 square feet, the average square footage was 2902.
Square footage does not *always* correspond to price.
Age, location, location, location, and condition are
factors also.
- Out of 31 domes ranging from 26' diameter to 60'
diameter, the average diameter was 40.4. Some homes
were double domes.
- Out of 31 properties ranging from 1 acre to 80
acres, the average was 7.2 acres. When the single 80
acre property is removed, 30 properties averaged 4.8
acres, the largest being 14.75 acres.
- The ages of 13 dome homes ranged from 6 to 27
years, with an average of 18.5
years.
